Official Tournament Report

Another installment of the KL Fun Touch done and dusted. This year, the tournament was later than the usual March Easter break due to the world Cup preparations in May. The August date for the tournament this year was therefore a bit of a rush. Here were the results of the 3 categories.
Mens
1. Team Carisbrook
2. Cheesywolves
Women
1. Cheesywolves (in picture)
2. Reko Rebels
Mixed
1. Todaks (SG)
2. Cheesywolves
This year's tournament has many firsts, such as the first to introduce a mixed category which was a hit as it was fully subscribed 3 weeks before the tournament.
It's also the first time we had a team from Singapore (Todaks) and I am extremely glad to have them in KL to bring up the level of competition at the tournament.
It is also the first time we brought in 2 extremely established reffs from Singapore (Linda Scott and Simon Bernie) who provided a lot of advise and support to the tournament and its referees. Thanks for coming up to KL all the way from Singapore and for showing us how international class referreing is about
It's also the first time having the tournament at the new and glorious ISKL campus which allowed us the have 3 touch fields to run the 3 categories simultaneously. The field and facilities is as usual top notch. Thank you Geoff Moorhead.
2019 also saw our first time sponsor, Carisbrook, joining the fray in supporting KL fun touch. The jersey designs for the tournament is simply amazing with the fuse of Batik and Maori design.
The New Zealand High Commissioner has supported us for the second year running and we think there will be more activities lined up with them in the coming future.
Kuckrejas our longest supporter from day one continues to subsidise us with the balls which all teams have received as a memorabilia of the fun experience yesterday.
Last but not least, our title sponsor Micasa (2 years running as title sponsor and 3 years running overall), whom have been extremely helpful in supporting us with the overall logistics and funding. The BBQ dinner at the Tapas was awesome and the party continued on till late with he Federales rocking the night up. We thank you all our sponsors from the bottom of our hearts.
FIT Malaysia (Brian and Sam) and the reffs have been the backbone of the tournament organisation. Games were executed like clockwork, always on time without amy delays. Thanks to them for ensuring the administration of the matches are done extremely well.
Also, special thanks to the organising committee, Jenna, Khadijah, Wei and esepcially Marcus who have been the arms and legs of the tournament preparations. Marcus although in Australia have been the key personnel supporting the tournament remotely. Also, thanks to Jake for arranging the fun side of the tournament, the pool, water slides and water gun has definitely given a good balance of fun and competitiveness. Thank you guys.
Last but not least, thank you to all of you who participated in the tournament. I salute you and commend you in your passion for the game and the development of the sport in our beloved country.
Let's look forward to a KL Touch league next year where I will need your further support. Have a wonderful weekend.
