SPECIAL REPORT FROM THE FLYING SCOTT

The President was away, so the Flying Scott rose to the occasion. Attached above is a bonus pic of some of the elders back then. Flying Scotsman here again in hot and sticky Seoul with this week’s write up. Good weather for touch this week and a decent turn out with enough for 3 teams and some reserves...in hindsight we should have gone to 2 fields.....poor turnout from the old guard, apparently some southern hemisphere rugby game caught their attention....and yes, predictably the Kiwi team won.. Good to see Darryl back and Frenchman Frank feeling smug after their World Cup triumph! No Don or Fendi, so not sure who to poke fun at this week...Roderick vocal as usual and enjoyed his customary discussions with Bryan about the rules and Joe (Malaysia not Canadia) took it upon himself to move the cones marking the field mid game??!! Just about the fastest player was also the youngest, didn’t get his name but he was full of speed and great changes of direction. Last week Adamson junior made his touch debut and out scored his dad with a dash up the line...definitely a chip of the old block (ok...when the old block was a lot younger) This week my run came to an end when make a trademark burst through the line to score, when I realised my groin strain hadn’t healed yet! On a serious note, we really should stop marking the field so close to the path, my aforementioned groin issues was caused by ‘skating’ on the path having made a touch in the corner, 3 weeks ago just a few metres from where Dave O left deposited a bunch of his skin last week....and I suggest sticking to a maximum of 6 a side otherwise the field gets too cramped. I think I’ll need at least a couple of weeks off to recover from my injury, but you might see me pitch-side enjoying a beer or 2! Cheers, Grant
